Photo speed enforcement is dumb. Driving through a small town this morning, the speed limit dropped from 50 to 30 almost instantly and as soon as the speed limit dropped, cameras.
Also on an unrelated note, people that constantly ride their brakes irrelevant to the driving conditions are dumb.
Have a random internet picture of the best police car of all time. For your time.
No, I didn’t get a ticket, but yes I totally got tailgated for driving the speed limit in the slow lane. Because ERRRRRRGH PHOTO ENFORCEMNET BLAAAHHHHERR ERRRRR.
So, does !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! actually work?

Use my old license plate.
What it used to look like for reference.

I love me some LT1 Caprices, but I prefer the 70’s Monacos. Cop motor, etc.

Monacos are nice and all,
But I totally lost my trust in Mopar to build a Police car after they put that horrid I-6 or whatever in the Diplomat that did 0-60 in a lightning fast 20 seconds and topped out at -100.
Then I lost my trust in them even more because of the Aries or whatever shitbox K-Car they made into a Police car. I think they had propane tanks in the trunk and had about the same specs as the Diplomat.

Yes, best cop car. You and I may already have discussed this fact.
I’m going to bid on a couple of Crown Vics in a small city vehicle auction next month. A year or so ago, I picked up three Vics for $550/550/650 and sold each for around $2,200. Not easy money, though, as I had to ferry the cars 300 miles and find backseats for two of them, arm wrestle the DMV, et cetera. But fun money and I can say firsthand that compared to the 9C1, the Crown Vic makes a pale comparison. At best.

Beauty! I’d love to take that car for a spin, literally...

The Diplomat really tried to be a handsome car, but even with the 340 or 360 or whatever it was — not the 318 — it was a dog. Torsion bar front suspension on those?

People who use their brakes as their sole way to modulate speed are idiots.
Slow gradual turn coming? Better hit my brakes
Slight decline in the road? Better hit my brakes
Person 1/4 mile up just merged into my lane, better hit my brakes
Oh my god was that a drop that hit my windshield?? Is it supposed to rain?? Better hit my fuckin brakes

They do that because it makes them feel like they’re being “safe drivers”.
I was a passenger in a car with a driver like that in the past... and “feeling like a safe driver” was roughly the answer I got when I asked why they braked for no reason.

Doesn’t work. The only thing that does is a cover, which will most likely lead to you getting torn a new asshole by a police officer.
I have enough of them that I’m eventually going to make a collage.
In Montgomery County, Maryland, they even give you video’s. I’m not proud of it, but this is my worst offense.

Idiots. Being aware of how to control your car and adjust speed by just letting off the throttle is being a safe and better driver.
Too many times I’m behind this person and thinking they are braking because they see cops or a road hazard not a hill.

What I find most interesting about the Caprices of that era is that every officer I know loved them, the motor pool guys loved them, and many fleets ran for a long time with no huge defect becoming apparent. Enthusiasts love ‘em too.
But put the same (more or less) engine/trans combo in an f-body and its FUGGIN OPTI DON’T GET IT WET DON’T FEED IT AFTER MIDNIGHT LOLWUT

To this day, whenever I’m with my grandpa and a Caprice is spotted, he’ll say “See that? best cop car ever made.” I ask him how the Crown Vic he had shortly before retirement was, and he just replies “Cramped, slow, and ugly.”
Preach it, grandpa.

my camaro has a plate that folds down to access the trunk latch and i “forget” to put it up a lot.. also i tend to drive with my tailgate down “for gas milage” both of which block the plates from those damn cameras and are completely explainable when i get pulled over.

Thanks for the heads up, I was in Maryland at the time also. Don’t know the exact name of the town, somewhere near Rockville IIRC.

Overwhelmingly positive review all around from what I’ve heard. I posted about one that just got put back in service recently, you don’t see that every day. At one point they were refurbishing Caprices instead of buying Panthers.
The Panther is much better than the current Police cars on the market though. I’d like to like the new Caprice, but it’s made in Australia which is stupid.

I ride my brakes regardless of the conditions, but inly in my work truck. Not my truck, dont want a speeding ticket

You really shoudln’t, it’s a bad practice. If you ride your brakes, it’s hard to differentiate a slowing down from a dead stop.

I don’t do it in my truck, but the work truck isnt mine so it's not my problem
